Well the wife pick up a piece of the wood Jim sent me and said she wanted a candy dish for the coffee table. So I couldn't wait. I finished up a clock I was working on and chucked up this piece. It has one coat of oil to pop the grain. It will get a couple of coats of shellac then General Finishes WTF. It is 7" across and 2" tall. She is a happy camper and told me to tell Jim that the wood is beautiful. Thanks again Jim.

Right out of Sequoia Natl Forest...about 80 years ago! Nice work Bernie...that stuff is so old it will suck up oil like a sponge!

Thanks again. Jim I didn't think it was ever going to quit soaking in oil. Not sure if I will put another coat on before the shellac or not.

Let's see. You had fun, you satisfied your artistic needs and you made your wife happy. Bernie, you had a good day. I was going to tell you I like the bowl but as long as your wife likes it no one else matters anyway.

Thanks again. Faust keeping the wife happy is first and foremost. As long as she is happy she never says much when I buy a tool.:D
