Walnut Crotch Bowl

This is a walnut crotch bowl made for a friend who gifted me a whole walnut tree which I split with a friend who uses a lot of firewood. I've previously posted a couple platters from that tree. Most of the tree was rather plain and used for firewood, but I kept the crotch pieces. This one ended up 14" x 3.5" finished in home brew oil and buffed with EEE and then ren wax. Sorry for the photo quality, my friend came to pick it up unexpectedly, so I just took a few shots before he left with it.

Firewood.........:eek::eek::eek: ......oh my! We use red oak in my neck of the woods and save the walnut and other woods like cherry and such to become more than fuel.............hope you can save more of the next one!
