Burl pendant

I finished this pendant in time to display it at the Totally Turning 2012 event this past weekend.

I don't know what kind of wood it is, but it's got lovely figure.

The pendant is about 2" in diameter, and Lauren made the multi-strand leather choker necklace.

Early last week Lauren and I did a demo for the NJ Woodturners club.

I demonstrated several pendant turning techniques, and Lauren talked about making necklaces with beads and wirework.

I showed the components of this pendant to the group before it was assembled. So some of the Totally Turning attendees (who attended the demo) were pleased to see how it all came together.

It looks like I will be doing demos at some other clubs... Great fun.

I did this quick photo on my way out the door on a business trip. When I return I will try to make a photo that shows the two large knots and findings on the ends of the choker. Lauren did a lovely job on this understated choker.
