Good Morning Everyone,
Well, how many of you got into the spirit of things yesterday and played some April Fools joke on your loved ones.?? :)

Well, the LOML had a birthday last week, her mother is here visiting us for 2 weeks and they celebrated the March birthdays together. Well, the deal for me what to setup a new flower bed for the LOML and plant flowers for her to take care of and enjoy. I posted pictures on my Facebook page so the rest of my family could see them. I really enjoyed the work as it was nice to be out of the office and working in the yard.

I'm taking time to ride motorcycle with my 2 youngest sons and we are really connecting better now. I had hopes that I could find a way for a dad to connect better with his teen sons and I feel that I now have more than one way to stay connected to them and develop an even deeper relationship with each of them.....for this...I am very thankful. I love them both greatly.

Well, that's it for me for this past weekend. Gonna be a BUSY week for me as I'm already triple booked for bass guitar playing for the Easter weekend just ahead of me.

So...what did YOU do this past weekend?

Best of weeks to you all.

Got the top mounted on the entertainment center I'm building and got it trimmed out. Took over the cooking chores while the LOML recoups from a terrible cold. Prepared the shop for the next step in the construction of the entertainment center.....sanding and finishing. Glad I came up with a method to hook my ROS to my DC!

Finished building my cabinet lift. Got 6 pairs of full extension slides installed in the new cabinet. Fiddled quite a while getting my setup to cut locking rabbet drawer joints dialed in. Cut out and test fit the first drawer...1" too wide, forgot to subtract 1/2" on each side for the slides. Luckily I did a dry fit, so I just have to slice off and re-cut the rabbet on one side of the front and back. Also built another clamp holder to hold the 6 Irwin Quick Clamps I bought a while back from Rockler. It has the right angle, screw in L-brackets that let it clip into my peg board.

We told LOMLjr that we got a call from the school's automated alert system that since they haven't had any snow days this year they were getting this week off in addition to next week's planned spring break. She was so excited...then so mad... :D

I returned home late Friday from a two-stop work trip to St. Louis and then outside Chicago. Saturday LOMLjr and I cleaned the bottom of the mower deck and painted it with Slip Plate (a graphite paint/lubricant), I sharpened the blades, and mowed about 2/3 of the lawn--1/3 is too wet. Sunday I worked on some house projects and started up my parents' standby generator. Taking some comp time today for some more household stuff.

ON Friday I went and borrowed an 8' aluminum ladder to help paint my cathedral ceiling in my living room, sadly, the ceiling is far too tall for that, and my fat butt is far too heavy for the 225 pound capacity of that ladder... On Saturday I found a Craigslist post for a $75.00 10' fiberglass 300 lb rated Werner ladder, I jumped on it. Spent plenty of time driving across the metro area to get it and come back...

Helped out a family member that is going through a tough time by taking them grocery shopping.... That sucked up most of my Saturday...

Overall felt awful all weekend. I have a dental issue my insurance won't cover with a broken tooth. (had a root canal a long time ago, so no pain), and realized yesterday that what is left of the tooth was starting to absess (or however you spell that). Talked to the dentist today, got a script for antibiotics and an appointment to get the X rays redone... I need to have the root of this thing pulled, and an implant put in... Stupid insurance won't cover even removing the broken tooth... Anyway that has left me feeling pretty bad, so I have spent it otherwise fairly easy this weekend. Did a little sheet rock crack repair in the ceiling (verified it's NOT foundation, it was damage from Hurricane ike, the whole roof / ceiling was moving during the storm...), touched up the hallway paint where the texture interfered with the brush and the original color was still visible... Waiting for that to dry, and then I can tape off the corner where the wall and ceiling meet so I can touch up the ceiling next...

Finally found my software packet for my Windows 7 / Office 2010 load. Put it somewhere safe where LOML won't file it with old family photos, and my cigar snippers again...

how did you figure it out that it wasn't from the foundation? i have the same issue with my house and was on the verge of having a soil specialist come and take a look when my wife called my FIL and he quashed the whole idea...
