I made a curved hollowing tool for small hollow forms today because the form I am turning is too small for my laser rig to handle. I am using a short piece of 3/16" tool bit for the tip and was going to braze it on the drill rod but remembered that some of you glue them on with cyanocrylic. Before I try that I am wondering if any of you have ever had trouble with the heat of turning causing the cyanocrylic to let go. Thanks for your experience.

Don,
I don't have that much experience, but I know David Ellsworth uses CA on his. He uses a torch to melt the glue when he changes the tips.
Good luck.

Thanks, Jack. I guess I need to be a little more specific. I think David sticks the tool bit in a hole and glues it in. I am going to try to glue the tip on a flat ground on the end of a 5/16"drill rod tool. This will only be for small forms and will not be hogging a lot of wood off.
