If you recall the thread John K. posted a week or so back "A creeker makes TV!! Congrats, JD! (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?183691-A-creeker-makes-TV%21%21-Congrats-JD%21)", in the video I was in the process of turning a miniature birdhouse. You see me placing it, partially turned, on my table saw out-feed table close to the end of the video.

This is it completed. The roof is NE Bradford Pear and the house is wormy "old-barn" chestnut. Finish is RC lacquer.

I like it! The NE on the top and the two colors on the base really look good!

Very well designed and the wormy wood adds some nice character to the piece.

Pretty cool and when you place this on display - make sure to add a sign that says 'As seen on TV'.... should help generate some conversation!

What is the size of this piece? Is anyone making functional bird houses with a similar form? Just wondering, as I finish up a couple of wood duck houses to get placed outside today (flat work, of course).

We have lots of little birds around (finches, chickadees, nuthatches, etc.) that might like the turned houses. Hollowing practice?
