I bought a waxed 4" x 4" x 2" blank up a year ago because it was cheap. It was so small that I set it aside. It had a little tiger stripe in it. It's pretty dense and takes a nice polish with little or no tear outs. I wish I knew what it was. I would try to find some more. 3 1/2" dia. x 1 3/4" tall.

That makes three of us that had the thought of cherry.........don't know for sure, but it has that look...........looks can be deceiving on a small piece ..........I would like to have seen the entire board from which this piece came. Curly cherry is not a bad guess however!

That is a nice bowl, and nice wood. Cheap wood like that is something to look for. Do let us know if you remember where you found it and what it is.
