It sure has been a while since I have checked in here. Lots of new faces and many old ones as well (figuratively ;)) . I have been busy with finishing up my house these days now that I have some time, all new: siding, windows, roof in some areas, and many many interior and other infrastructure projects.

This particular one has been dear to my heart for quite some time...a new front entry from 1950 Honduras Mahogany. Everything is solid mahogany - door, sidelights and transom is solid staved construction and then "skinned" both sides. M&T construction with pegged tenons. I used West Systems 2 part marine epoxy and finished with Setol clear "Door & Window" marine finish.

Paul,

Welcome back. You did a fantastic job on your entry. The side lights, and transom really set it off. Do you have any construction photo's?

Tom,
yup....that is the next step to create the framework with plywood ribs. Will finish with T&G board and of course a nice Federal style pendant light. Have to wrap the posts too!

So... I guess that's still a work in progress with a "porch to nowhere..." ;) Let's see what the overall plan is.
