Not sure if this is classified as a hollow form or vessel or neither of the two. (i would appreciate it if somebody would provide the answer) In any event, here it is..... my first one....NIP portion is roughly 8"x3" and 12"H overall. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Looks good Thomas, and a vessel and hollow form are actually the same thing, so this piece qualifies as both! A more open vertical form without a top would be a vaaaaaaase.

I'm not qualified to answer your question re: form, but I certainly think its cool!

Now, as to the secret question. Is that scalloped cast-iron from a Felder or MiniMax? :D

Wow Thomas!!! I gotta grab some of that! You did great!!! I think only pundits, assuming they are here, will tell you different, but if it's not a bowl...it's a HF...I think vessels are meant to hold stuff. I could be way off the mark, but that seems to be the rule from those who make them. Looks to be about 1/8" thick...very nice for the width...better to keep it thicker and save it rather than to thin and waste your $$. ot qualified to speak to finial or stem, but the NFP is great!

Great color in that wood, and it does very well with the form - whatever one wants to call it! Nice work, and a great finish. What did you use?

Thank you all for the kind words.
John, the finish on the NIP and finial is an automotive clear coat. The finial is Ziricote. The pedestal is I'm not sure wood.

Did you put on anything under the clearcoat? I have some of it and still have not used it but am looking for the right piece to try it on. thanks Jared
