I need that to put my new lathe in my shop. It would also be great for mounting big turning blanks.

My first thought was for lifting bigger pieces up onto my bandsaw and maybe even lathe cause my hips are pretty much shot. Second thought was thinking about all the times turners have commented about getting things in and out of their basements. I don't have the basement problem, but it doesn't take up much room, and has about 800 pound capacity.

The company that manufactured my ceramic cooker had several Escaleras... Very cool devices, and useful because the cookers weigh 400 to 500 each.
