I need a blade for my Dewalt biscuit joiner, and was wondering if I should go for the expensive Dewalt blade, or get the CMT blade (6 or 8 tooth?)

Opinions?

Thanks, Mike

I have the 8 tooth CMT biscuit blade for my Porter cable biscuit cutter. I really like it. I think it's better than the Original blade. I imagine the dewalt CMT blade is the same high quality.

Highland Hardware sells BJ cutter blades. The same make will fit a DeWalt or even a Lamello Jointers. And I think they sell cutters made by Amana and by CMT. They all do the same jog and are sized the same. Highland can explain this to you over the phone.

Have it sharpened! Costs only about ten bucks at Dynamic Saw.

Just curious. I'm pretty sure my Dewalt is a 7/8" arbor. That is 0.0875". Lots of the blades have 22mm arbors (0.0866"). Are these interchangeable?

I rarely use my Dewalt BJ. So I was not willing to spend $50 for a replacement blade. When I discovered that my local HF had one for $8 when using a 20% off coupon. I figured I would give it a shot. To my delight it works just as good as the original.

Have it sharpened ... if the shop removes a bit of carbide from the face, it will actually make the biscuits a better (tighter) fit in the slots.

Same here. Think I will give it a try.

Tnx!
