Bosch 1617 bearing replacement

Has anyone changed their bearing in their Bosch 1617 router? Used mine today and it sounded more like a diesel than a router. Turned the shaft and it is ratchety and I can hear the grinding. Just wandering if anyone has any advice from doing theirs before I start taking it apart.

I haven't done a 1617, but I did my 1615 a few years back ... no surprises and pretty straightforward. If I remember correctly, it was pretty much ... pull the brushes ... remove collet & screws from the bottom end ... slide out the armature ... pull & replace bearings ... reinstall armature ... reinstall brushes ... reinstall collet.

I did pull the top off & thoroughly cleaned it all inside, but it was really not necessary.
