veneer trimmers.....

I am veneering some edges of wood. Anyways i have been using my flush trim router bit with my router to make the edges flush but the glue is guming up my bit. I was wondering if there is another way that works good. Router bits or hand tools. I would really appreciate the help. Thanks Josh

I've had pretty good results just taking a sharp plane blade and laying it on the face and sliding it along to slice the veneer edge off flush.

Josh, spray your bit with Dri-Cote before using. It helps prevent buildup. Also, make sure your glue is completely dried, if it's still soft, yes it will gum up. I use a laminate trimmer on all my edges and never have this problem.

What dia. bit are you using? A smaller dia helps with this.

I use a razor blade. just make sure its a sharp one.
