I've been wanting to ask this for a while but since it's National Bandsaw Week, i'll ask it now ;). My bandsaw blade is always tilted toward the front of bottom wheel regardless of its position on the top wheel. Does this affect its ability to cut straight? I tried to adjust for blade drift by setting the blade to center of the crown on top wheel but that didn't seem to help with drift. Does the bottom wheel need adjusting or is this normal? I could adjust the fence to compensate for drift but then the miter slot is out of square which makes it kinda useless. It's a 2 year old griz 17".

Thanks!

The first thing I would check is are the wheels coplaner, my bet is they are not. This MAY be the source of your issue and it may not. But you need to get it ruled out of the equation either way.

Need watch this video with Michael Fortune on (http://www.woodstore.net/maanybapepe.html)How to Set Up a Bandsaw. The bottom wheel dose not need adjusting.

The bottom wheel dose not need adjusting.

Almost assuredly true but, the bottom wheel does adjust. Page 52 in my manual. I wouldn't mess with it until I did everything else to resolve the problem ;-)

Thanks for the link Rick. It's very informative. I'll check the setup once again before messing with the bottom wheel alignment. There's a good chance fatory alignment is better than me poking around and make it worse :)
