I have a plastic wall plate that I want to engrave. It says that it it is made from Nylon 6. From previous experiences I have learned that some plastics will emit chlorine gas when lasered. Is Nylon 6 ok to laser, or will it emit Cholrine gas or any other poisonous gasses? I have attached the PDF about the plates from the company. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your help.

This is the Url to the site. The pdf for the plate is the first one listed after the pictures of the plates, entitled: "TradeMaster Thermoplastic Nylon Wall Plates, SF2501R1"

Check out the video on this site. If the flame is green it has chlorine.

From previous experiences I have learned that some plastics will emit chlorine gas when lasered.

The only thing that will emit chlorine gas is PVC, polyvinylchloride, other plastics may have bad odors and emit co2, but not chlorine.
