We're adding a built-in hutch and counter to the kitchen. The upper part will have glass doors/shelves and lighting. Normally for a cabinet I'd use prefinished ply, but in this case I ought to finish the interior the same color and species as the rest of the kitchen (mahogany, dark stain), no? Just a quick gut check as to what's usually done with display cabinets in dark kitchen cabs...

It's really your call. Often the glass door cabinets give the "designer" the opportunity to introduce a complimentary color - painted. Lots of old examples of corner cabs with pastel painted interiors. The prefin maple or birch interior could be nice too, especially lighted - would give a warm glow. :)

Yup, your choice. The most common is to finish with the same color as the cabinetry.....but sometimes it's fun to step outside the box.

good luck,

Thanks for the feedback guys...it's always harder when it's "your choice." :)
