Sold the last two (stealth gloat) so I did another one in preparation for Kentucky Crafted.

Spalted Maple - 11 1/2" on a side x 2 1/2".

Shellac and then multiple coats of lacquer.

All comments welcomed.

Very nice looking Toney! How do you get the "wavy" edge?

Id love to try, but somewhat new to turning.

Great job! Nice wood and uniform thickness. Unfortunately, my wife just saw the pictures and wants one just like it. The list just gets longer :)

They should sell quickly. The bowl is unique and very pretty.

Great "wave". I can see why they sell!!! The spalting in that one looks almost exactly like a dead maple I cut in Maine a couple years ago. Much different than one I cut here in Delaware.

Toney,
Top notch in all ways. Color, form are super and the Waves are a wonderful touch. Very nicely done.

Excellent work, Toney! Great job on keeping the thickness even on the wings. Friday, I will be working as a volunteer for the Market from 3-6pm - email me and let me know your booth number!

Toney, you didn't mention the sanding challenge these pieces create after turning! I will stop by your booth and visit, but I have not participated in "The Market" the last 2 yrs. since I don't wholesale. But now that it has moved to Lexington from "Lu-ah-vull" it's only a 12 mi. drive and I may return next year.

When I turn the bottom I make the wave. Instead of continuing the curve to a point I turn the point back down.

Try it!!

Looks like I'm your neighbor, I'm at 455. See you tomorrow and maybe you can explain your technique.
