I got the new Fine Woodworking and saw some good ideas for some boxes. I liked the "sliding" lid and the slanted sides, so I came up with this one, the first of a few I'm making. It's easy to cut the miters now since I got a new Festool Kapex Miter saw.
Here's the over all view, box is Cherry (pretty bad cherry at that) and the lid is some Concalo Alves. I put a square groove in the center of the lid
And now, what is different for me is that the dividers are not "curvy" I thought it was something different !
You can see how the lid slides into a groove in the back so that no hinges are necessary. Danish Oil and wax for the box, dividers wax only, and the lid Danish and spray on poly to a nice sheen, then a coat of wax.
Criticisms are welcomed.
