I don't resaw often but I'm making some crown for our kitchen remodel and needed to resaw quite a bit of lumber. I bought the Laguna Driftmaster and added the taller resaw fence and even a novice can resaw:cool:. The board thickness varied by less than 0.010" top to bottom and throughout the length. The finish was smooth except for the spots that I stopped and started. Most of the boards were 6" to 8" tall and never felt the saw (or blade) wanting me to slow down:

It that a Resaw King blade? There isn't a better fence for resawing and the RK is one of the best resaw blades.

Yes, Euro steamed beech. When we decided to use the beech I forgot that I couldn't just go to the big box and purchase trim and moulding. I sure have aquired quit a few new skills building my own cabinets.

It's a G0513X2. After initial tune up it's been flawless.

Yes it's a RK - got a great deal on it when I bought the fence.

Although I think Mike answered the question you ask I will add;

The RK is available in 3/4", 1" and 1 1/4" widths, the gauge on all three is .024" and the kerf is .041". The gauge is nice since it doesn't need as much absolute tension as most carbide blades so less "healthy" bandsaws can get it up to the 24-30K PSI needed and the thin kerf (compared to other carbide tipped blades) is great for getting that extra slice or two of veneer. Although the newest versions are variable pitch (like Mike's) they will still have some harmonic vibration and my THEORY is the thinner band produces a high frequency vibration compared to thicker gauge backers and thus adds to the finish quality of veneer cuts. IMO the RK is the best veneer resawing blade I have come across.
