I'll be making some oak mission style doors to replace the current painted doors.
For a variety of reason the door jambs will be near impossible to take out.
Looking for input on gluing oak veneer onto the painted jambs.
Think it would work? Type of glue?
Whatever ideas would be appreciated.

So your going to remove the stops and veneer the inside faces and edges. The problem I see with that is that usually the edges of a door jamb are pretty rounded over so it seems like that would be pretty hard to veneer. You might have to add a 1/4 inch piece to the inside face so that you have a square edge to veneer to on the outside edge. Of course then you lose a half inch on your door width.
