Software to convert black & white images to color

Is there software available to convert black and white images to color?

You can use any good photo software, such as Adobe Photoshop to colorize a black and white photo, but there is no way to "automajically" do such conversion that I can imagine. But colorization is also a bit of work, especially if you want something somewhat realistic. Many of the lower cost programs will allow you to easily "sepia tone" a black and white photo...I do that occasionally in Adobe Photoshop Elements for effect.

Most of the time, I find myself going in the opposite direction! I love black and white photography as there is no color to mask the need for good composition and lighting.
