Check out the links above. In just about every video I've watched, I've seen at least half a dozen "DO NOTs" listed in every safety book I've every read.

Noteably, all but about the first 15 seconds of this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yp-bQQl3FWY) I was wondering how much blood I was going to see. So far, I've only seen one minor cut from his homemade circular sawzall (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CAZ_IKlJdQ).

In my part of the world... the vid would start with the words

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that this is the guy that starts his tablesaw with his foot and practically kills himself with his circular saw getting a corner to line up....right? I didn't even actually watch the videos, but somehow I have a feeling that this is the guy I have in mind...

He's almost legendary in his luck...or perhaps it's skill...

Anyhow I'll watch the videos later tonight, but my intuition tells me that "tablesaw foot guy" is past due and that he's cropped up again...

I'll eat crow in the morning if I'm wrong.

Yep, but he has a better way to start his saw now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_S92S73Rzc

I'm thinking "If I Only Had A Brain" would be good background music for this...

alright, crosscutting using the miter gauge while referencing off the fence without moving it back to clear the blade is a bad idea and leaving the blade guard off always gives me the creeps but the guy did manage to restore a rather stout looking relic of a tablesaw which looks like it has more iron in it than some of the ones built today. some of the comments are pretty funny but i hope he doesn't amputate something in the near future.

I love watching that idiot now and then. Its not honestly the worst thing I've seen, but somehow his attitude about what he is doing is pretty cavalier in a way that makes his presentation special. Seriously, all that trouble, time, risk, bike inner tubes......to save the $89 dollars it would cost to replace that old motor with a functional unit? You have to figure he's not right just based on the math involved. I'm particularly fond of the way he leaves the plywood in contact with the back of the blade in the second vid, then steps around the back to pull it through and retrieve his work piece. And the mad max router router meeds skill saw thing is a work of art.

I watched one the other day where a young man tries to hold back a metal lathe via the chuck key while his buddies turn it on, some how he flips over the thing, slips, gets his foot caught between the spinning chuck with key still in and bed, not pretty. Some people are not well.
