Craft Supply under the "New Products" section has a new Long Grind Jig which looks like it increases the wings on a swept back gouge. Has anyone tried one out? I've pretty much gone back to an 8" grinder for gouges because I can't seem to get a long enough wing using the Pro Edge. I love the Pro Edge for everything except the gouge. I've even made up a "V" arm base and tried the Vari-gring jig without much luck. Are there any users out there finding the same thing?? The instruction book says to extend the gouge out further for longer wings but any gouge that has about half the length ground away will be too short to work with the jig when extended.
Don't get me wrong, you couldn't pry the Pro Edge away from me but I haven't gotten the results sharpening the gouge that I'd really like.
