This is #2 of my foray into segmented/sandwich pens. Platinum & Titanium Sierra with some HRB from Mr Keller, MD. The shiny stuff is aluminum to match the kit. 10 coats of CA knocked down with 0000 steel wool. This goes to my Optometrist...paid for my sunglasses with this one, not a bad deal!
C&C always used on the next one and thanks for looking!

I've been contemplating something like this, did you just cut the blank on your bandsaw and then sandwich in some aluminum? What glue did you use to bond the wood to the metal? Great looking pen. Those wall st kits are growing on me.

Now that is a good looking pen! You got the curve of the blank just right. Are you using CA adhesive between the aluminum and the wood?

Thanks Jon and everyone! I tried CA on a related project and it failed miserably!! So learning my lesson the hard way, I use black Devcon epoxy. By mistake, I bought the 6hr stuff so the 3 glue-ups took a day and a half and tons of clamps! I only use CA for gluing tube, filling and finishing.

Sure did Rob...I use Devcon black epoxy on dark wood to fill in the gaps. I use a Highland Woodslicer 1/2". That and moving slow gives me a great cut.

paid for my sunglasses with this one

Must have been some cheap sunglasses!:D J/K I really like the two different materials. The aluminum goes great with the pen kit. Excellent job!
