This is the second piece of a series of loosely 'nautical' based pieces, the first was the last piece I posted called 'Flotsam'.
Its an English Elm hollow form with Sycamore 'sails' on a Mahogany base. The form is around 9" long and the colours are acrylics. More info and rambling on my blog which is linked to in my profile under 'Homepage'

Comments and critiques welcomed.

Dang if that ain't one of the coolest things I've seen come off a lathe! It's neat looking, very cool, and it's very unique. And, I really like it!

Very unique! I love the way you have the sails catching some wind and have the boat listing to the side - great movement. This is an excellent piece, Johnny!

That sure does have some imagination behind it! Maybe how plants came across the Bering Strait!

Love the creativity. I think it all works well together but especially like the curvature on the sails and the texturing on the base. Great job!
