This is a piece I showed last night at the GAW meeting. I was a little nervous turning and finishing in front of 60+ turners, all with a lot more time at the lathe than me. I spent several hours on the finish alone, it is not perfect, but does show the possibility for this as a finish. It is sanded to 600 grit and then pollished with the satin and gloss polish.cimments are welcome. Russell

You obviously have achieved a nice finish, but what did you use for finish?

Stickfast ca finish glue. Sorry I should have mentioned that.

Really nice form.. I wonder what some Minwax "natural" stain would have done for it.. a little more grain pop maybe?.. still, NICE piece.

Good looking vase Russell! I really like the finish in that it did not yellow the wood! I will have to check it out!
