I am in the process of building a vacuum system. Anyone know of a source for a vacuum gauge? I checked Menards and Lowes and all theyha were pressure gauges.
Also, what specs (or numbers) do I need to look for on the face of a vacuum gauge?
Thanks

Here is a good source (http://www.veneersupplies.com/products/Vacuum-Gauge---Heavy-Duty-14-NPT.html) - right price and good quality. Check out Joe Wood worker too. He has a lot of info on building vacuum presses, but a lot of it is applicable to vacuum chucking too.

I got mine from Surplus Center too. You need something that will go to about 30 in Hg.

I got my whole kit from Craft Supply #327-1600.
oil-filled guage, valve, holder, hose etc.
Very happy with it. approx $90.
The filter I got from JT turning tools. He sells it with his vacuum pump, but will sell seperately.
