The other day I was in Home Depo looking for a PC 557 Biscut cutter. I saw someplace that they were clearing them out for the year at a big discount. I was looking to replace my Freud JS102, the fence just never seems to stay put. I had previously checked out my local one and they were already gone. I was about to give up when I didn't see any on the shelf of this one. As I was leaving I saw it by the exit. Reduced $120 on the yellow tag, then they took off my veterans 10% discount so I walked out for $115 total. The picture is proof.

Congrats! Maybe this is why I've had so much trouble selling mine...

Dan,

You did better than me. I got the 557 at $164.00 - 10% ~ $147.60 + tax. I bought it just after Christmas. I tried several HD around Chicagoland down to $120 and no one agreed to it.

that is a really good deal, but im still the reigning champion for a PC 557 gloat....
new off craigslist for $25 (yes, you read that right, twenty five dollars)
but if i didnt already have mine, i would be all over that at HD

I was going to brag about getting one last year from Gizzly for $110 but the $25 beat me four ways to Sunday!

I got one of these from HD as well - clearance item. Brand new, and unopened. Some stores will do this based on their sales. If they don't sell many, they cut the item - and instead of sending their left-over inventory to other stores, they sell it for basically half off... Worked out well for me and the OP :)

(Can't compete with the $25 craigslist 557 though - that was def a score)

well i do have to confess, i did pay another fifteen bucks for him to ship it.
but does that really count? who hasnt spent that much in gas to go pick
something up they bought off CL?

This thread prompted me to call HD and get a stock check on the SKU. None in my store, or nearby ones, and yes, it's on clearance. Bummer!

Wow!! Nice buy. I was feeling happy about buying a display model for $99 from Ebay that does not include the 2" blade or the case.....or the instruction manual.

Congrats!!

If the new ones are as good as the old you have a really fine tool. I've had mine for at least 10 years and it works flawlessly.

I hope to enjoy it soon. Thanks to a fellow Creeker for the info on the $25 Dewalt/PC rebate. I will get it for $90.70 + the cost of a stamp. :D It still dosen't beat the $25 one on CL though.
