Can anyone please help

I saw on Sawmill creek(many months ago) a link to a supplier of aluminium extrusion suitable for making a fence (the aluminium had a number of channels into which jig hardware could be attached )

Can anyone please direct me to this product

I'll guess it was 80-20 (http://www.8020.net/). Remember, extrusions are not milled so the suitability to making a fence would vary with what you accept as straight or flat. Extrusions are neither, milled extrusions are.

Here's another couple in the same vein. The second is a smaller UK company that doesn't trade in the US, but illustrates that these aluminium framing systems are becoming more widely available from especially automation houses:

Plan B might be to buy a purpose made fence from one of the makers of machines - it could be more pricey, but might be worth it if you want a purpose made section....

Kreg also sells some extrusions suitable for making a fence. I put one on my existing Jet TS fence and it was very useful, but you could use it to make a fence from scratch if necessary.

80/20 has an online outlet store. Once in a while my local salvage yard gets some in. When they do (and I'm there) I stock up.

There is a Unifence replacement available from Peachtree Woodworking in Atlanta that has two T slots in the top and one in the face for attaching jigs and featherboards. It's called the Uni-T-Fence. It only replaces the original Unifence extrusion and does not require any modifications to install, so you can easily change between this fence and the original depending on your needs.

If you use a piece of 80/20 for the fence and you're concerned about it being flat and straight - bolt a piece of 6/4 quartersawn white oak to the face with deeply countersunk fasteners and joint it flat. I've found that 80/20, especially in the heavier extrusion (like 3030 or 3060) is pretty darn flat and straight - usually within 3-4 thou per foot.
