Happened to see a freshly cut maple and stopped and asked the owner if I could have some. Went back with my buddy and this is what we got. It has some spalting in it. There were larger diameter logs but we could not lift the rascals. Now, as a new turner, I just have to figure out what to do with it! LOL I have sealed the ends until I can get it cut into blanks.

Yeah, that is sort of "big wood" for my Jet mini! LOL Maybe I will cut some blanks and just let them dry until the day I get a bigger one, or maybe use some of them in trade.
