Inspired by Kathy Marshall, I had to try one of these spline boxes. Made from a piece of a pallet that I think is Poplar. Around 2.5" (6cm) across. I have to work on better joinery for the spline, the mortice was not sufficiently strait to have a clean joint.

That's pretty sweet Eric! Since I have a bandsaw worth over .29 cents now, I may have a lash at those!

Now that I've done one, I have ideas to improve. Got the concept from one of Kathy Marshal recent posts

Eric:
Nice box - how far down inside the box does the spline go?

Greg, about 1/4" below the lowest point on the curve

Nice job Eric! I too thought of different things to try after the 1st box, just haven't gotten around to putting them into action yet. And I give credit to Jason Clark for his demo on spline boxes at our last club meeting, and a much better finished product than mine.
