View Full Version : Randy Privett - Critical Condition - Update 2-15-2012

I just found out from Vaughn McMillan that Randy is in the hospital in critical condition.

Here is what Vaughn had to say:

I just got word from Randy Privett's daughter that Randy is in the hospital in critical condition. Without going into a lot of details, he's dealing with multiple serious issues, and his prognosis is still not clear.

If you have ordered anything from Randy recently, please know that they are doing everything they can to get the current orders completed, but you should expect your order to be delayed beyond the 3 to 4 weeks that were previously advertised. (I just changed the website to say the delay would be at least 6 weeks, but at this point even that is probably being optimistic.) They are still accepting new orders, although here again, you should expect a pretty long delay if you order anything.

And if you're so inclined, your good thoughts and prayers will be appreciated by Randy and his family.

Randy is a good friend of mine and this comes as an absolute shock. While this thread is not a request for prayers, just the same, I am sending mine to Randy and his family.

Steve, I really hate to hear this. Randy has worked diligently at providing a great product and excellent customer support, even with previous issues of lack of mobility and pain. I hope and pray that he beats this situation and is able to continue what he has spent many years building.

A little story of hope. My uncle had cancer so bad that the hospital told him to go home for the few weeks he had left and spend it with his family. Our church, Victory assembly of God, prayed for him nation wide. That was in 1986. While not in the best of health today, he is still geting around on his own. I don't know what Randy's illness is but I do know that the power of prayer is alive and powerful. We here at SMC that have read this post will all pray for you to get well soon and have a long life ahead. God bless you Randy. My prayers are with you.

Randy is a super nice guy, and my prayers are with him and his family. Randy offered to let me pick up my articulated arm since I don't live very far from him, even though he had a break-in after letting someone visit sometime in the past. I declined the gracious offer, but now wish I had gone and met him, we talked several times and he was very nice. I hope to meet him in the future when he recovers.

Just don't know what to say. I talked to Randy just a few weeks ago and never new he was having problems. Not that I'm a personal friend and talk to him or anything like that on a regular basis. But he seemed very chipper and sprite when I called him. Sure hope he comes through whatever the problems are with flying colors. He's really a great guy. We will be praying for him that's for sure.

I've always had a great appreciation for people that set out to build the very best. Randy is one of those that does so. I don't own one of his systems yet, but it's between his and the Kobra asap.
Please let us know if anything changes. We all wish him well.

Just got this info from Vaughn McMillan:

A quick update on Randy...

He has remained in critical condition all week, but this morning things had improved enough that he was able to get out of bed and sit in a chair for a while. So keep pulling for him as you see fit. He can still use all the help he can get.

Prayers do indeed work! And it doesn't hurt to live in God's Country either.:DAnd that, Steve, is why you need to consider moving to KY!!;)

The last time I saw Randy was at the OVWG symposium last summer. He is a worker, and that is a good thing. However, he was moving slowly - on canes of course, and was tiring out quickly. Hopefully, he will not push himself too much.

Received an email this morning from Randy's daughter, Michelle. Randy has been home since Sunday and so far is fairing OK. He still has some health issues and, while he is doing better at home, is not out of the woods yet. So, prayers, thoughts, etc would still be much appreciated!

Michelle - in addition to taking care of Randy - is working with her husband to fill all the Monster tool orders.

I wish the family well as this has to be a stressful time for all!
