Well, I picked up a 5 piece set of cordless tools from Ridgid recently and really love them! They are powerful, last a long time, and oh so convenient! I can use them wherever I want without having to plug them in. It got me thinking... I need a wireless router. Anyone use one of the ones made by Belkin or Netgear? I see them all over CL for quite a reasonable price. ;)
This was spawned by my recent search for "router" on CL...man, there are more wireless routers on CL than ticks on a deer!

You are a funny man Mike....
The really funny thing about a wireless router is it is connected to the wall with a cord... go figure.

Yeah, Van, I suppose "wireless" refers to what it connects to, whereas "cordless" refers to how it connects...or something like that.
Steve, wireless shaper didn't fit the pun, unfortunately...

I wouldn't buy one. You can't plunge cut with them. They just blink and hum. Maybe you should look at a radio alarm saw.

Wireless router. And yes, it fits the plunge base.

Well, there you go, Johnny! See, ya learn something everyday... Or at least I do. :) I have to admit, though... a battery life of 150 linear feet is a little short for my book.

Well that is putting an edge profile all the way around 6 full sheets of plywood. Some will say the bit is getting near the time it needs a touchup as well. I have the cordless Ryobi laminate trimmer, I have used it a handful of times, usually when I have a non-shop related quick job to do, easy to take out use and put back. The only thing is no matter how close I put my computer I can't get a signal.

I would be really happy with a wireless router that had a range of 150 ft.:D Min be seems to barely cover my house. 150 ft would get me working in the yard on those warm summer nights.:)

I work as a software developer. The other day I was bragging about my new router table that I had built with dust collection in the cabinet as well as in the fence. One of my co-workers got this puzzled look on his face and then asked me why I was so worried about dust and why I felt the need to have a security fence around my router. He said "I just have mine on the top shelf of the closet in the living room!"

See, now, Larry...you could start the same kind of thread on a software forum about "Needing a new router"...but it would just work the other way. ;)
