Here is a Black Ash Burl Hollowing Ive been working on lately... Now,,, I did some researching, and I couldnt find a name similar to this, so if I am wrong, let me know and I will change the name,,, I would hate to steal anyones name as that would probably lead to an off topic thread on its own, so please let me know... Ive named it "Egg Shell",,, I do have a little finishing to do on the inside, but I couldnt wait to get it posted,,, plus my sanding tools are about five days out...I ordered the Apprentice Dual Action Sander plus accessories... Anyways, how I got the name??? It was the first thing that came to my mind as the finishing stages were approaching..I suppose now that Ive reached the stage of naming my turnings,,, I will have to start concentrating on photos,,, a whole other deal in the world of woodturning... Thanks for viewing..

Cory, I don't think I would worry much about names - pretty sure most of them have been used at one time or another! This one is aptly named and a beautifully done piece. I love the little "O" part in the first pic - neat! Great piece of wood, too, but then you have a BUNCH of good looking wood! I still recall drooling over it at AAW!

Gorgeous stuff, Cory! I'm guessing that was a limb burl based on the view of the bottom. That little ring, the frost line, and the natural edge are real high points for me! The walls seem a bit straight and the base a tad large for my preferences, but you've really achieved that eggshell look with the thinness! Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

That piece is way cool, but I think I would have called it PITA. ;) Very nice job.
