I posted about this several months ago; finally got a picture of it. The counter was made from old 8/4 T&G barn flooring, planed down quite a bit. I like this picture because you can't see the mistakes, which makes it a portfolio mainstay, hee hee. The post to the right of the unit came with the house.

Perhaps my glasses are real dirty, I can't see the hutch! :)

I'm afraid the picture quality has gone to the devil with the dishwater. BTW, that's "Kiss Me Stupid" on the tele (Dean Martin, Kim Novak).

Very well done, Walt! What finish did you use? I am in the process of building a bunkbed unit for my grandson out of pine and am debating what finish to use.

Walt, it looks good. Question though, why did you put the TV so low? Doesn't that make it kind of tough to watch. Just curious. You did a nice job!

Al- the finish is BLO/MS/Linseed oil w/ a little Japan drier, with a satin spar topcoat on the counter. Jason- the clients wanted the tv there: they aren't big watchers. The turntable gets the most use, and the whole thing is scaled to hold records (12 1/2"), which makes for a pretty lousy yield out of sheet goods :(
