I built this Stickley 603 Tabouret based on the Chris Schwarz article in Woodworking Magazine (Issue 9, Spring 2008). The wood is what made this special for me and the recipient, my mother. It is constructed from cypress that was harvested from swampland on my grandfather's dairy farm in Mississippi and first put to use as planks in his barn. When the barn came down a few boards were salvaged and distributed by one of my uncles to the other siblings.
The finish is a few coats of clear shellac followed by several coats of Defts clear finish. I'll post most of the construction details are over in the Neanderthal Haven.
