Peaceful Heart

Peaceful Heart Bowl. Heart shaped cherry bowl, pierced with a peace sign and airbrushed with a rainbow. No foot, so it rocks when touched. Around 5" (13 cm) across. Finished with EM6000 waterborne lacquer.

Weekend project, turned the bowl on Friday, Pierced, Airbrushed and Finished on Saturday. Felt like I should have been listening to 60s music and wearing tie-dye while making this.

Thanks everyone, it was a lot of fun to make. For some reason, it produced way more smoke than previous piercings, and it was too cold to have the garage doors open, so it was very smokey in my shop when I was done.

Hey - nothing wrong with 60's music!! :D

Cool idea and definitely different! Not sure why but I think I would have sanded the piece after piercing and just let it age naturally. I do like the idea of having it rounded instead of using a flat spot or foot. Gives the piece some life!
