Don't charge by the square inch. Charge material + time.

I charge by the square inch with a minumum for small labels of $2.50 for 1x3 for example. My pricing is dependent on volume. A single sign will cost $.50 per square inch and I have a shop minimum of $25.

edit: On large orders there may be a need to charge a set up fee as well.

Thank you. I generally charge by my material & time costs but was wondering what the average was for people that do charge by the square inch.

On ordinary 1/16 plastic, If the customer is supplying 'ready to go' files..(rare) then I charge by the square inch on a scale. Smaller signs have a larger per sq inch cost, and it goes as low as .34 per.sq.inch on a 12x24 layout . + artwork, if they don't have anything useable.
