Is there a good source for the small belts that are used on pulleys in equipment such as exercise machines?

And is there a standard terminology for specifying belts? Do the numbers printed on them follow any standard?

I repaired my "Body Champ BRM3671 Cardio Dual Trainer" after the crank bearing assembly broke. In trying to put the belt back on over the pedal crank pulley and flywheel pulley, I noticed that the belt doesn't really fit the configuration of the machine. The flywheel can be adjusted to provide more or less slack in the belt but the most slack that it can provide is not enough. I'd have to pry the belt over the pulleys. So I'd like to replace the current belt ("Fenshou 370J 104 4F", which is about 37 1/4 inches long) with a slightly longer belt.

None of the local auto parts stores carry a belt like this. Neither did the small engine repair shop that I checked. The belt is about 1/2 inch wide. It has 6 ribs that make 5 channels. The center-of-rib to center-of-rib distance is about 3/32 of an inch. I'd like to get one about 39 inches long.

Do you have a 'bearings and drives' type place in Las Cruces? If so, that might be a good place to start. If they can't get them, I'll bet they can tell you who can. Does it look anything like these?:

Try here. This is where I buy parts for our equipment in the senior center weight room.

Anyone ever made a wide belt sander out of a treadmill?

Not a sander, but the motors and controls have been used on lathes.

Yes, the cross section looks like those belts. The only place that comes to mind in town is Fastenal. I'll call them.
