Love the TS outfeed table design!!!! I have plenty of room for my stationary one but I saved it for future reference just in case. It's by far the best fold up design I have seen.

BTW...does it have to go on a PM66???:D

Thanks,

Terry

Terry,

I didn't do the TS drawing or any of the drawings I just uploaded. They are files I found on the Web, all are royalty free and not copy protected according to the site I downloaded them from.

I will upload another bunch tomorrow, I hope the plans are helpful.

Unless my eyes are playing tricks, the plan does not match the picture! The picture is more like the one I have on my saw while the plan is for a fold-UP design!

The one on the plan is certainly an innovative folding design--especially for situations where the whole unit (saw and all) need to be stored up against the wall in a garage/shop scenario. My only concern is that in the folded position...the saw is unusable for anything other than some crosscutting. That might be a disadvantage for shops that merely want to drop the outfeed table to allow for more floor space without affecting saw operation. The good news is that there are lots of great choices for this important function and this is one more great design to add to the mix! Thanks to Keith for posting.

Jim,

When I looked at the drawing it looked to me that the table had three positions...vertical up, horizontal and vertical down.

Just for Laughs, in the vertical up position it looked like you could do a little ping pong practice if you got the urge.

To All,

Looks like the cad files are very popular. I have collected 49 files to date and will post all of them as fast as I can. If you have files you are willing to contribute please post them in this thread. All drawings should be posted in this forum so that they are searchable in the future. Please use the keywords Cad File in the subject line and then a brief description.

LOL! I hadn't thought of that, but you are right! Of course, the miter slots might interfere with "correct" directional response of the ball...:p

So what program do I use to open these files???

Well, here is the old critic again:)

Since this CAD library has the potiental to grow to possibly hundreds of files, how about setting up an ftp directory were a zip file has an accompaying txt file describing the drawing?

I never said that I was a computer wiz. When I down loaded Keith’s “outfeed.zip” last night and opened it up with my zip program, I was actually looking at my own “outfeed.zip” file.
After reading Jim’s comments, I downloaded Keith’s file again, but this time I renamed it “outfeed2” and low & behold it is not the same file!
I will email Keith my cad drawings and he can upload them if he wants.

I feel really stupid – sorry guys! :( :(

Bart,
You can go to Autodesk.com and download their viewer “Volo View”. It will allow you to view & print only. Here’s a link to it:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=837403

There are other free programs on the web if you do a search.

Ken G,

I have already setup a directory for CAD files but I'm having second thoughts about the amount of time it would take to keep a directory updated. For now we will just use the forums and upload file attachments as we have already started. The benefit is that all of the drawings are searchable in the SMC database.

Bruce,

No problem on the table saw drawing, it happens to all of us but please post a message and attach your drawing to the new message in this forum.

Bart,

Any CAD program will open the files obviously and Corel Draw as well. I know that AutoCad (AutoDesk) has a free viewer that you used to be able to download from their web site. The problem with a viewer is that you won't be able to make any changes to the drawings. Search the Internet...there are a couple of free CAD programs that are available, the US Army used to have a great CAD program on their web site somewhere that was relly good and it was free. I bought TurboCad 7 and since I changed to Win2K it won't install. The bottom line is that it isn't worth going to any trouble to install, heck I hated the program anyway.

Just a note for folks new to CAD, some CAD programs will require you to "import" a DXF file, rather than open it directly. DesignCAD, that I use, is that way, as is VISIO.

Kirt,

This should really be in the Support Forum.
The attachments appear to be working correctly.

Which file, specifically? Are you using a MAC?
Do you have a program to read .ZIP archives?
Do you have CAD software to read .DXFs?

What program are you guys using to view these files. I have TurboCAD but can't seem to open any. Getting an "Error in line 0" message.

Thanks,
