Gluing and machining phenolic coated birch ply??

Just wondering if anybody has any experience. Do the glue lines typically damage cutting edges, and is the phenolic a good base to bond to? What adhesive? Thanks

Just to say that i found this piece here on the Fine Woodworking web page: http://www.finewoodworking.com/Workshop/WorkshopPDF.aspx?id=30588 It basically says that the stuff machines just fine. They don't address the use of adhesives, but mention that the phenolic face makes good cauls and the like because most adhesive don't stick well to it. So that probably answers that one.

The fix is probably a whizz over the router table to expose clean wood/create a rebate where it's to be bonded...

I know from experience that plain birch ply can be a little hard on tools and cutters due to the slightly more abrasive nature of the adhesive layers - but that equally it's not too bad.
