View Full Version : Box of wood up for grabs
Kathy Marshall
01-31-2012, 2:50 AM
I'd like to get another box of wood ready to ship out and I have some recipients in mind, but I'm having a hard time deciding which one, so I thought I'd throw it open with a little contest of sorts.
Hopefully this will be ok with the moderators, if not then I'm sure we'll find out shortly.
The recipient will be chosen purely by chance. I've sent myself a pm where I've chosen a number between 1 and 250. It's already in my inbox and it is time stamped.
221985
At the conclusion, I will post a screenshot of the pm.
If you want to try your luck, just post a reply with your number between 1 and 250 (only 1 post per person please and no pm's please) before 11:00 pm AZ time on 2/1/12 (wednesday).
The winner will be the 1st post with the correct number. If no one chooses the exact number, the winner will be the closest number to the actual number (in the case of a tie, I will ship 2 boxes).
I will pm the winner with a choice of woods and their preference for blank size(s). The blanks will be cut this weekend and shipped next week.
Due to financial considerations (considering my finances are few), anyone outside of the US would need to cover any shipping over and above Large Priority Flat Rate (about $15.00).
Good Luck and let the games begin!

Kathy, I am very willing to send you the $15 or so for the Flat Rate box. Getting wood at my overseas military location is not easy. There certainly isn't any hardwood here in Japan.
My high school son, the mathematician, tells me to select 171. Good luck all.
Thank-you for the opportunity,
Guy Belleman

Steve,
Timing is everything, I was typing my 42 when I read your post.
So, though I don't have any Scrabble tiles handy, I'll go with the convoluted and incorrect: "What do you get if you multiply six by nine?" So my submission is 54
Maria Alvarado
01-31-2012, 8:15 AM
Darn it, Steve snagged my number (for the same reasons ;-)). In that case, I will go "one louder" with 11.

Hey, wait a minute! I'm also 39... Does that count for something?
Kudos to Kathy for sharing her wood stash with all of us... I noticed a number of us who've already been recipients of boxes from the SMC wood fairy were able to resist the urge to drop our names in the hat again... This further confirms what a decent bunch of people tend to inhabit this site(This post's author excluded).
