I have been using LaserBits to purchase different laser woods totry them out. Is there another resource that has larger sizes of wood laminate sheets? I have looked around but cannot seem to find any. Is there a manufacturer or a proper term for this. I know its pretty much the same as flooring minus the interlocking joints. Thanks!

Specialist plywood and board suppliers will have a huge range of interesting materials, some of which should laser well.
Problem is, they only sell whole sheets (and some will only sell whole pallets of sheets), so it is pretty expensive for experimentation.

In a way, you answered your own question - check the DIY barns for wide flooring planks and cut them up to suit.
The plastic-faced ones ***may*** have PVC in them, but the real wood stuff should be fine.

Any good woodworking or hardwood supply will have it. Around here I use Crosscut or Rockler, years ago when in the Bay Area when I was a scroll saw guy, I used McBeath in Berkeley.
