Hollowing tools (woodturning)

I made these for turning hollow forms. They are made from 3/4" cold rolled steel and have M2 cutters, I use them in a Sorby arm brace. The left one has a cutter installed now (the picture was taken before this one was drilled and tapped). One of the two with scrapers is for a friend.

I used a Harbor Freight portable band saw to cut the taper. The bending was done with heat from a torch.

How long are the scrapers including handle length? More photos?

Are the shafts drilled and tapped or is it drilled and a bolt and nut?

The curved tools have 3/16" square cutters, it is metal lathe tool bit material.
The straight tool has a 1/4" cutter, also metal lathe tool bit.
The scrapers are made from some old wood shaper cutters.

How long are the scrapers including handle length? More photos?
The scrapers are about 18" long as shown; about 30" long including the arm brace handle.

Are the shafts drilled and tapped or is it drilled and a bolt and nut?
They are drilled and tapped 10-32

How did you bend these? What is your heat source?

I have been thinking of trying to make some hollowing tools myself.

My thought was to heat the metal in the coals of a wood fire and then beating the metal to shape.

Not elegant, but I don't have any other heat source.

Bill; you can probably make some from 1/2" rod by cold bending.
I used a oxygen-propane (similiar to oxygen-actylene) torch for heating. A wood fire will not be hot enough unless you rig up a way to blow extra air into the fire.
