Fein 9.11.20 Mini Turbo Vac - Motor Brush Replacement

The brushes finally "died" in my 8 year old Fein 9.11.20 Mini Turbo Vac. After getting a pair of replacement brushes I went to remove the old brushes but I cannot figure out how to remove them. Does this require a complete motor teardown? Has anyone actually replaced a pair of Fein motor brushes?

I found out from Fein Customer Service that the brushes are an interference fit and must be removed by using needle nose pliers. One of the brushes would not come out using the needle nose pliers and I had to use a Vise-Grip pliers and a lot of force. New brushes went in easily and the Fein 9.11.20 is operating like new.
