Mesquite Salad Bowl set

So here's what's been keeping me busy for the last week or so. The set was turned at the request of my tree trimmer friends to give as a gift to a family member. They were all turned from the same tree, and all of the small bowls were from the same log.
The large bowl is 10 1/4" x 3 1/2" and the small bowls are 6 1/2" x 2 1/2". All have a couple coats of walnut oil and will be getting one more.

Great set with great looking wood. I can see why you turn so much Kathy! To be able to take a chunk of wood( like mesquite) and in just one night turn it into something so pretty could be very addicting!

I don't think I could bring myself to using them. I would just have them on display and eat out of regular bowl. Just a great job of turning!

I called Deb (1/2 of the tree trimmer team) to let her know I'd be dropping the bowls off tomorrow, at which point she mentioned that she thought they'd be taking out a walnut tree on thursday and did I want it? (pre-gloat) Hope it's a good sized one!
