Hey All,

I have enjoyed viewing all the recent posts of new hand tools and thought I would add one of my own ;) I recently obtained a couple of block planes. A Record 060-1/2 and a Craftsman 3732 .

And three Stanley Shoulder Planes. A No. 90, 92, and a 93 (Thanks again Walt!)

Now all I need to track down is the ever elusive No. 94

Thanks for Looking,
John

John,

Nice set of planes........

I've never bought from Walt (yet).....he is a good man though!

These kinds of things really make it a joy to "head down to the shop":)

John,

I'm curious: how would you compare the quality and performance between the Record and the Sears? My guess would be that the Sears is built to higher standards, but that's only because the Record looks so new.

You hit the nail on the head! The Craftsman was made by Stanley for them and it is far superior in quality, and performance. The Record does perform well as those are end grain shavings in the mouth of the plane. Was a bit more difficult to get it to take as good a shaving as the Craftsman.
