I suppose the servers were down............did not know if it was the sun spot thing causing issues, but via other forums, I communicated with Dick Wilson, Scott Hackler and others as well as JK by email.........none of us could get the site to upload for us...........

Any ideas on the issue with it being down?

No idea. Could have been maintenance, some server issue, or even an ISP/internet/DNS/"plumbing" problem. Either way, it allowed me to get to sleep just a little sooner than usual....

I have no idea what happened to the Creek, all I know is that I about started twitching when I could not get on for several hours. Do you think that is a bad sign?

Sounds perfectly normal to me.

Dan plugged in his American Beauty and sucked the life out of the power grid on the East Coast. After powering up, he put a tool to a bowl blank and then the "Vortex Gods" gave us a sign!

Kinda like the East Coast earthquake we had a few months ago. It was pretty rare! :o

I agree with Peter. Figured someone maxed out their AB and turned it on.

I was not aware of any problem last night. Our server is rock solid, much more reliable than the one we retired last year.
Aaron Koehl didn't say anything to me about taking the server down for maintenance, he recently upgraded vBulletin and a host of support programs so that wasn't the problem.
Our bandwidth provider may have had some issues however if some of you were able to connect the problems may have been with other providers networks or possibly somewhere else on the WAN.

Keith, it was definetly down for hours. I could not connect via comcast isp. I tried both firefox and IE, cleared cookies in case something was holding it up. It was around 11pm to 12pm ish

My experienced was similar to Roger's. Scanning the location info of the above posters it appears to have been a wide spread problem.

It was down for me also. I figured it was storm related... after seeing all the damage from that major front that went through yesterday!

Down on the west coast of Canada as well - definitely a few twitches and sore mouse finger from repeatedly checking...

Glad to see it's back up. SMC rules!

Looking at the logs, our bandwidth provider is the culprit; server stayed online the whole time, we just stopped seeing new traffic between 5:40pm and 1:50am...

Down for me about 5pm tell about 12:30 when I went to bed. Road Runner NE Ohio from Time Warner Cable.

Same - Road Runner - and same time frame, but in Maine. All other web activity seemed unaffected.
