This is a piece I did several years ago when I was doing a lot of pyrography. I'm not a flower artist but I did several similar pieces and they were fun to do. (and sold well) One of these days I'm going to so some more pyrography and add some piercing. Carefully....In order to do the piercing the walls have to be 1/16th inch thick. Once I was doing some burning on a thin walled piece when I noticed more smoke than usual. The piece was on fire inside the vessel! Things got exciting for a while...Lesson learned!!

This piece is about 7 inches in dia.

What a neat piece, Wally!!! Aside from a beautiful form (a given for you!), the placement of the flowers is just very balanced. They look as though they are popping up at random.

au contraire, you indeed are a flower artist. I agree with John, that it looks like a random wildflower garden.

Wally the flowers are simply beautiful! I really like how they pop on the burned/textured background. I'd love to see more of your burned and colored pieces!

Wally,

Ten thumbs up! (ten for those of us that are all thumbs when it comes to pyro)

Beautiful work, Wally! This is my wife's favorite of your turnings... Seems to be in step with the tastes of the modern woman... I'm guessing it sold quickly.

While I am not crazy about the flowers, the form is beautiful and the effect of the dark texturing is fantastic.

Very nice work Wally, Question ? What did you use to color the flowers ? .. you have some fine coloring details within the flowers themselves so I am curious as to how you did this.

Very nice Wally. Why type of finish did you apply to the final product?

John, the flowers were colored using Prismacolor pens. I used Daly's Ben Matte tung oil as a final finish.

Neat work! The color of the flowers are great and the dark texturing almost makes it look like they are in a flower garden.
