Came home from work today to find a flat rate box on the porch!
A little after Christmas surprise from Doug Swanson. He sent a very nice little birdhouse ornament (I really need to try one of these one of these days) and to keep it from bouncing around in the box he used a big chunk of maybe elm and some spindle blanks. The "packing material" worked great and the ornament arrived in perfect condition :D (who needs bubble wrap).
The maybe elm just might be a candidate for another coring attempt!
